GQ featured OREN in their Best Restaurants of 2020 list. Naming us an “East End gem”.

INSIDER left us among a list of some of London’s best restaurants in their ‘18 best meals of 2019’.

“This tiny restaurant serves 'Tel-Aviv inspired sharing plates in a converted shop. Chef Oded Oren balances each dish beautifully, from the fine crispy batter of the gurnard to the creaminess of labneh in our starter, The chocolate mousse dessert was possibly the best one I’ve ever had. Pair it with their tumbler-glass take on an espresso martini, the cold-filter coffee Campari,”

LONDON ON THE INSIDE left a lovely piece this year about us. “It’s definitely nailed that buzzy neighbourhood restaurant vibe – it’s always packed and the music’s always loud, so it’s got a nice lively feel. Any meal here should begin with the fresh pillow-soft flatbread served with olive oil and tomato, plus a plate of the cured salty anchovies.”

THE NUDGE featured a flattering article late 2019 on OREN in the early days of our opening. “The food, like Oren’s heritage, hails from Israel, but adds a few influences from the rest of the Middle East too. Dishes start with the likes of burnt aubergines with tahini from Mount Gerizim (it’s literally where the Good Samaritan came from); and baked hispi cabbage with a vibrant romesco sauce.” Leaving us a great report on our food and what we’re about.

BIG HOSPITALITY interviewed Oded late 2019 regarding the spirit behind opening OREN. “Mediterranean food was always my passion, though, and I also wanted it to reflect on the flavours where I’ve come from.” Touching on how the restaurant came to be and potential ideas for the future.
